Welcome and Class Overview

Welcome!

I'm so glad you're here!

If you're new to the Teachable learning platform, make sure to take a look at their article on how to Navigate and View Course Content.

To get an overview of the Sew Many Letters class, you can watch the video and/or read the text below it.

With everything you learn in Sew Many Letters you will be able to personalize your sewing and quilting projects with initials, names, words, and phrases.

The Sew Many Letters class is divided into 5 units:

  • In Unit 1, you'll receive a warm welcome and overview of the class.
  • In Unit 2, you’ll learn how to find the right kind of letter templates and a step-by-step process for selecting and resizing the letter templates so they are a perfect fit for your projects.
  • In Units 3, 4, and 5,  you will sew along with me as I show you how to hand applique the letters using the freezer paper method.

Because hand applique can be done almost anywhere, your sewing project becomes portable. So, you're not tied to your sewing space to do the sewing.

As a result, you have the opportunity to make more time to sew because you can hand applique while watching TV or hanging out with family and friends. You can even take it on the go.

During the Sew Many Letters class, you will make 4 - 5" x5" samplers while learning how to hand applique with freezer paper. Those letters are S-E-W-e.

If you want to turn those samplers into fabric drink coasters, I’ve linked a tutorial on how to do that in the Bonus Section of the class.

Also in the Bonus Section, look for the Alphabet Applique Templates. This is a set of upper and lower case letter templates that were all hand-drawn by me. They are a go-to resource when I need letters for a project.

Make sure to save Alphabet Applique Templates to your computer so you have quick access to letter templates when you need them.

If you like to have written directions, look for the Quick Guide that is also located in the Bonus Section. This is a printable reference on how to hand applique with freezer paper.

With everything you learn in Sew Many Letters, you will be able to personalize your sewing and quilting projects with letters, words, and phrases of your choice.

So what are you waiting for...let’s get started!
